Eskmo – Colorbrain Mix

San Francisco based breakbeat/dubstep/glitch producer Eskmo has just dropped an exclusive mix set for Chock full of his own productions, remixes and bootlegs, the 30min set highlights the producer’s newer dubstepish glitch direction. As tight as a three year old, this mix is an attitude driven journey through the rumbling low end of current EDM.

Hard to pigeon hole, Eskmo’s sound lays somewhere around dubstep yet contains solid elements of glitch-hop, with slight touches of his older break beat roots also apparent. The mix itself does well to highlight his diversity as a DJ and producer – mixed and created through ableton, its obvious that Eskmo makes the most of the technology at hand; warping, looping and loads of  FX help to make the 30mins highly intriguing. Starting out with moody and dreamy beats, the mix progresses well – not as hard as Eskmo’s previous mix sets, it begins and ends on the more layback and melodic tip, ozzing with warm and enveloping bass lines.

It’ll definitely be getting repeat playlist action through my sound system.
Get down on it.
